Seventy five years ago this month, the Soviet Union introduced its first all-metal airplane, the Tupolev ANT-14. Built of noncorrosive steel by the Central Aero-Hydro Dynamic Institute for use on the Moscow-Vladivostok air route, the 36-passenger plane had a wingspan of 134 ft. 6
